Sara Simon

Hello! My name is Sara, and I’m thrilled to be serving as the Operations Director for our camp community. In this role, I oversee aquatics, financial services, and transportation—three areas that help ensure every camper has a safe, smooth, and joy-filled summer. My journey in aquatics began when I was 16, and what started as a summer job quickly grew into a lifelong passion for youth development, safety, and operational excellence. I grew up going to day camp in Connecticut, where I first discovered the joy, friendship, and sense of belonging that camp can offer. Those early experiences—along with my master’s degree in education and my love of endurance sports, including the marathon and Ironman—shape the energy, commitment, and mindset I bring to my work every day.

Before joining camp full-time, I served as the Director of Enrollment Management at a private high school in New Jersey, where I worked closely with families, students, and faculty to create welcoming pathways for new community members. Outside of work, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Dan, is also a former CDR camper, and together we’re raising three boys, David, Matt and Aaron, who have all grown up as lifelong CDR campers themselves. Our connection to this community runs deep, and I’m truly excited for the upcoming summer and grateful for the opportunity to partner with all of you in creating an unforgettable season for our campers.
