Blended Learning Lifeguard Training Classes
Certification and Recertification
Courses are blended learning courses (i.e., approximately 10 hours of online coursework plus approximately 20 hours of scheduled, mandatory in-person class time for lifeguarding; 9-11 hours for recertification). All blended coursework must be completed prior to the first class session. Attendance is required at all classes. Participants who successfully complete the course receive a certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED for the Professional Rescuer that is valid for two years.
Course Details:
- The pre-test for lifeguarding. 16 lengths/8 laps, tread water for 2 mins without hands, enter water retrieve brick, and bring back to the start and touch wall.
- You will need to have proof of age (must be 15) and have your own email account.
- When you pass the pre-test, you will get a link in your email. This will be your online portion. All online portions must be completed by the date given by the instructor.
- BE SWIM-READY AT ALL TIMES.
- Come with a notebook and pen.

CPR Course
CPR + AED Certification and Recertification
With a half-million cardiac arrests each year, CPR and AED can help save a life if a person’s breathing or heart stops. It’s not just for healthcare workers and emergency responders.
Courses are blended learning courses (i.e., approximately 2 hours of online coursework plus approximately 5 hours of scheduled, mandatory in-person class time for lifeguarding; 2.5 hours for recertification. All online coursework must be completed prior to the first class session. Attendance is required at all classes. Participants who successfully complete the course receive a certification in CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer that is valid for two years. Age Requirement: Ages 12+
- Must be 12+ and have your own email account.
- Come with a notebook and pen.

$175/members • $200/non-members (we do not supply resuscitation mask)

Babysitting Training
Babysitters Training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic childcare and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old.
- You must be 11-14 to participate in this course.
- Must be prepared with a notebook and pen.

Bloodborne Pathogens + First Aid
Designed for those who are at risk for on-the-job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. The course teaches staff how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material. This course is one of the requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. After taking this course students should talk with their employer about their workplace’s specific policies and procedures. Those who complete the training receive a Bloodborne Pathogens Training certification valid for one year. This course also covers first aid emergencies designed to help non-medical professionals aid in times of crisis, this course allows you to gain an understanding of first aid best practices for a wide range of conditions, including:
- Asthma emergencies
- Anaphylaxis
- Burns
- Choking
- Diabetic emergencies
- External bleeding and severe trauma
- Environmental emergencies
- Heart Attack
- Poisoning
- Neck, head, and spinal injuries
- Stroke
- Seizure
