Festival FAQ’s

2024 New Jersey Jewish Film Festival Frequently Asked Questions

Founded in 2000 by Caren and Herbert Ford and now in its 24th year, the New Jersey Jewish Film Festival (NJJFF) has become one of the premier Jewish cultural events in the state. We screen award-winning premieres and first-run Israeli, American, and international films of Jewish interest, followed by thought-provoking post-screening discussions. In addition to our springtime festival, JCC MetroWest offers J-Films programming throughout the year.

The 24th Annual New Jersey Jewish Film Festival will run March 28 – April 14, 2024.

All films will be screened at the Maurice Levin Theater at JCC MetroWest. The address for JCC MetroWest is:
760 Northfield Avenue
West Orange, NJ 07052

Sponsor and Passholder seating will begin 30 minutes prior to all screenings. General admission ticket holders will be admitted 20 minutes prior to all screenings. In the event of a sell-out, a wait list will be created for any further sales.

No, the 2024 festival is fully in-person at JCC MetroWest. The combination of low interest in virtual films during the 2023 festival and film distributors moving away from virtual screenings brings us back to a fully in-person festival. Virtual/Zoom events may be scheduled for J-Films (year-round film events at JCC MetroWest) in the future.

Those Q&As with filmmakers and other speakers, after the films are over, will take place in person, inside our theater. We are using Zoom to connect our live audience with speakers in other locations. You must be inside the theater to participate in these Q&As; there will not be remote access to them.

Our films and festival schedule will be posted on our Festival Schedule page once it is announced.

Please be aware: NJJFF films are often not rated and may contain violence, sexual content, and/or explicit language. Parental discretion is advised. Please see each film’s listing for information about its language, subtitles, and availability of English captions.

Our films and festival schedule will be posted on our Festival Schedule page once it is announced.

Post-screening discussion and speaker info can be found on our Festival Schedule page once it is announced or in the 2024 Festival brochure.

A “Zoom Q&A” means filmmakers and other speakers will connect with our in-person audience on Zoom, inside the JCC’s theater. You must be present in the theater to participate in these Q&As; there will not be remote access to them.

The New Jersey Jewish Film Festival presents a wide range of exceptional films of Jewish interest (i.e., films with Jewish themes or content and/or films made by Jewish and Israeli filmmakers). Visit our Festival Archive to view past film festivals’ selections.

Yes! You can get involved by helping us prepare for the festival or by working at the actual event. More details can be found on the Volunteer Information page.

Our generous sponsors make the NJ Jewish Film Festival possible each year! Please consider helping to sustain our programming by becoming a sponsor. Further information can be found on our web site.

Sponsor benefits vary depending on the level of sponsorship given. Please see the list on our Sponsors and Supporters page for more details.

Film festival sponsors are issued a badge which grants admission to every regular NJJFF screening, plus any additional exclusive events for sponsors. We are not requiring sponsors to reserve tickets in advance for the 2024 festival.

Yes! We call that a Festival Supporter Pass, which includes admission to every NJJFF film, advance seating at each film, and admission to exclusive events. Please find more information on Festival supporter passes here.

Tickets can be purchased online at our Eventbrite box office.

Service fees will apply to Eventbrite orders.
Eventbrite does not allow users to check out for multiple events at the same time (it’s a universal safety feature on their site). So, if you want to buy tickets for more than one film, you will need to check out separately for each film. Thank you for your patience with that process.

There is no need to print your Eventbrite tickets or show them at the door – we will be operating off a will-call list of names. You only need to give your name to get admission to your film(s).

In-Person Box Office at JCC MetroWest

Advance cash tickets are available at the following times:
11am – 1pm; Wednesday, March 20
11am – 1pm; Monday, March 25
8:30 – 10:30am; Wednesday, March 27
No service fees will be charged for tickets purchased in-person with cash or check.

Limited tickets may be available for cash sale 30 minutes prior to each film screening.

Sorry, no refunds or exchanges are available.

No, we are operating off a will-call list of names for each screening. Please just approach the ticketholder table and give your name, and we will admit you to the theater.

Tickets to the 2024 NJ Jewish Film Festival are now on sale.

If a film sells out its available tickets, we will create a wait list for available seats (seat availability depends upon the number of festival sponsors and Festival Supporter Pass holders who attend a given film). If you are on the wait list, you must be present at the time of seating (5-10 minutes before showtime) in order to claim your seat. There is no charge to join the wait list, but you must purchase a ticket to claim the seat.
