I moved to New Jersey two and a half years ago. Five days after I moved, my son took me to the JCC so I could join. I can’t imagine my life without it now. The pool and all the classes they have to offer have been essential for my health. All the people – that includes staff and members – have been kind, motivating, and inspirational. I missed it so much during COVID. I’m so glad they have opened up again; it may not be the same as it was yet, but I feel safe with the protocols and procedures they have put in place. I am thankful for all the thought, effort, and hard work they have put in to make it possible for us to still enjoy the J we’ve come to love. Thank you all!!JCC Fitness Member
“The JCC has become our second home. We moved to the area two years ago and what a positive influence in our lives it has been. The teachers at the ECC are caring and nurturing. My son runs into the classroom waving bye, which is more than I can ask for. We love the child-centered curriculum, with an emphasis on the natural world and faith-based values all intertwined. The office staff is kind and helps out when you need it. We also love the community feel and have met a great group of parents that we have become friends with. Finding the JCC while we transitioned to a new town and new lifestyle has made all the difference to us!”Jessica K.
CDR is a gift to our children and a home away from home over the summer! My husband and I met there as counselors and to see our children there are very special. From all the activities to the amazing friends and the love of Jewish culture; CDR has everything we could want for our children. The warmth and love that everyone feels from all of the staff at CDR are truly unique!Amelia Perlstein
JCC MetroWest has been a pillar of the community for over 140 years. Nearly 2,000 people have entered the J for educational, social, cultural, and fitness programs every day. The Leon &Toby Cooperman JCC in West Orange and the day camp, Camp Deeny Riback, serve an area that covers 400 square miles–from New York City to the east in Essex County and extending to the outlying suburbs of Morris County to the west. Through classes, theater events, the fitness center, summer camps, and community-wide festivals JCC MetroWest touches approximately50,000 people each year. In keeping with Jewish heritage and values, JCC MetroWest is an inclusive community of communities. The J is open to and appreciates people of all ages, genders, races, religions, nationalities, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, education, socioeconomic levels, and political perspectives. The J’s mission is to strengthen the community and add meaning to the lives of those served by connecting them to—and through—shared Jewish experiences.
