South Dakota Trip

Enjoy the Natural Beauty of the American West with us!

Including Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, the Badlands, and Deadwood

May 31–June 5, 2018

Discover the spirit of the American West. Travel to the legendary Black Hills and see the American prairie as it was 300 years ago. Travel the backcountry of Custer State Park. Visit the magnificent Mt. Rushmore. See Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest mountain sculpture still in progress. Journey through the natural beauty of Badlands National Park and discover the fascinating history and stories of the Lakota and Sioux.

Jews of South Dakota… As a result of the gold rush, Jews settled in the Dakota Territory as early as 1876. Explore the legends of the city of Deadwood, home to Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane and learn about its Jewish History. Witness Jewish stories inscribed on gravestones, hidden in the deepest mines and on the highest elevations, in newspaper clippings and advertisements, and on the streets, buildings and shops. Visit the Jewish Cemetery and see the beautiful Hebrew inscriptions.
