Journey of Jewish Discovery @ B’nai Shalom

Journey of Jewish [email protected] B’nai Shalom

BUILDING A JEWISH COMMUNITY THROUGH COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

Social Justice: The Heart of Judaism

LEARN WITH RABBI TOBIN
SUNDAYS 10:00 – 11:30 AM
FALL: 11/1 – 2/14 (13 SESSIONS)

The fight for equality and justice is one that is all too familiar for Jewish people. Centuries of marginalization have been crucial in shaping our beliefs of alleviating poverty, suffering, and indignity for all. This course will dive into Jewish texts, history, and work and will help students gain a deep understanding of the Jewish view on social justice.

$375 for ONE class, $700 for BOTH! ($650 for B’nai Shalom members)

BUILDING A JEWISH COMMUNITY THROUGH COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

Devarim (Deuteronomy): The Building of a Nation

LEARN WITH RABBI FAGAN
SUNDAYS 10:00 – 11:30 AM
SPRING: 2/28/2021 – 6/20/2021 (13 SESSIONS)

In our study of the fifth book of the Torah, we join Moses in his final address to the nation atop Mount Nebo. Gazing over the Promised Land that he will never enter, Moses recalls Israel’s past and lays the foundation for the future of the Jewish People. Many themes are explored, lessons from the past illuminate the present as well as the future.
