Parent and Child Swim Classes
JCC MetroWest’s Aquatic Department proudly offers Parent and Child Swim Lessons which are led by professional instructors, provide a balanced program that teaches swimming skills and how to be safe in the water, and ensures not only a safe environment but also a fun one!
For each level of Parent and Child Aquatics, our instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills that are developmentally appropriate for infants and young children.
Routines and the familiar are extremely important to your young swimmer. Each class uses toys, songs, fun, and games to keep the children engaged and enjoying the water experience, all the while teaching them basic aquatic skills. Inspiring your child to develop a life-long love of and respect for the water is the ultimate goal.
LITTLE DIPPERS
Great experiences and fun activities teach infants to feel comfortable in the water. Parents learn to hold and support infants properly in the water. Infants will explore breath control, floating, and changing body position while “moving” through the water. Rubber pants AND swim diaper required under swimsuit.
6-18 mos. & parent
LITTLE FLIPPERS
Great experiences and fun activities teach young swimmers to feel comfortable in the water. Special techniques using parental assistance teach children water safety, safe entry, kicking, and arm movements. Swimmers build on breath control, floating, and changing body position while “moving” through the water. Rubber pants AND swim diaper required under swimsuit.
18-36 mos. & parent
LITTLE SKIPPERS
An advanced class for the swimmer who is ready to develop basic swimming skills—bobbing, floating, gliding, and combined arm and leg movements. Parental participation is required. Rubber pants AND swim diapers are required under the child’s swimsuit.
2-3 yrs. & parent
Program Schedule and Pricing:
7-week program: $175 Non-Member / $155 Member
Meets every weekend starting March 4 and ending April 16 with an 8th-week being a makeup week.

Little Skippers: 2 PM
Sundays:
Little Dippers: 10:00 AM

Please note: Personal flotation devices are not permitted, except at the discretion of the Aquatics staff, to ensure a safe environment. Parents or guardians must be in the pool with children who are Non-swimmers or younger than age 6. Changing of a child of any age, including diaper changing on the pool deck, is strictly prohibited. Please use the locker rooms provided for your safety and convenience. Rubber pants AND swim diapers are required under swimsuit for all children who are not yet toilet trained. For your convenience, rubber pants are available at the Reception Desk for $7 in a variety of different sizes.
