Waterfront Director, Camp Deeny Riback

Camp Deeny Riback in Flanders, NJ is seeking a Waterfront Director for the 2024 summer camp season.

 

The Waterfront Director is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of lakefront activities that are fun, safe and appropriate to campers’ ages and abilities.

The Waterfront Director’s duties include: 

  • Plan, develop, and manage a quality waterfront program for campers ages 8-15. 
  • Supervise and evaluate the Waterfront Counselors. 
  • Manage health and safety conditions at the waterfront. 
  • When not managing the waterfront program, participate/help in general camp program and operations. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. Job duties may be subject to change pursuant to the activities of the camp, camp needs, and the organization as a whole. 

 

 Requirements for Waterfront Director:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Over the age of 18. 
  • Hold/obtain Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding & First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Small Craft Safety certifications
  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard Manager certification preferred. 
  • Hold/obtain a NJ Boating License and NJ Driver’s License
  • Have strong demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach skills in swimming, water safety, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, paddle boating, 
  • Possess good organizational, leadership, and teaching skills 

 

The Waterfront Director will be a full-time temporary/seasonal employee who works Monday through Friday from June 24, 2024 through August 16, 2024 with various training dates leading up to the camp season.
