
Human Resources Director
Direct, plan, develop, establish, implement and administer the human resources management functions in accordance with the objectives of JCC MetroWest. Functions include staffing, training, management development, employee relations, legal compliance, policies and procedures, workers compensation administration, wage and salary administration, and benefits administration. The Human Resources Director must possess sound judgment, discretion, knowledge of legal and contractual requirements, and excellent people skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience; knowledge and experience in working with computerized accounting and/or human resource/payroll programs; proficient in Excel and Word.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Staffing
- Manage recruitment and talent management
- Ensure that new employees receive proper orientation and training
- Process and monitor background checks
- Design and manage the performance management system for the agency
- Conduct exit interviews
Training
- Assess training needs and provides training
- Ensure employees receive the required training classes
Benefits Administration
- Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Communicate and coordinate all changes to payroll
Employee Relations
- Communicate information to staff
- Facilitate conflict resolution process between employees and managers
- Work with managers to solve employee relation issues. Guide managers to ensure consistent application to the policies and procedures
- Serve as a sounding board for employees who have problems/questions regarding their work environment
Policies and Procedures
- Conduct periodic review of all HR policies and practices and update/revising as appropriate
- Orientate, train and interpret additions/changes to managers and staff
Legal Compliance
- Keep up to date on all HR-related law and ensure that the agency is well informed of any changes
- Administer and manage government benefits such as FMLA and COBRA
Union Issues
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreement. Consult with and advise managers regarding requirements of contract
- Assist in preparation and represent the agency in grievance hearings, arbitrations, and contract negotiations along with CFO
Workers Compensation Administration
- Track employee accidents and injuries and assess trends
