If so, substitute teaching at JCC MetroWest Early Childhood Center in West Orange may be for you!
We are a progressive early learning center and preschool in a welcoming community, with a beautiful facility and supportive workplace. Our school is inspiring and empowering of our students and staff. We are seeking substitute teachers with flexibility for morning, afternoon, or all-day availability (7:15am-6pm) to support classrooms with children from infant to age 4. Compensation is $18-$20 / hr. depending on experience and credentials. Frequency of work may afford you use of some of the JCC facilities as an additional benefit.
Responsibilities:
- Fill in for a teacher who has taken time off for vacation, illness, or other personal matters
- Care for children for the duration of your shift, ensuring a safe and engaging early learning experience
- Assist with learning activities, art projects, music, mealtimes, outside time, and more
- Work with a team of teachers – follow the lead of other teachers in the program as well as the Director and Supervisors
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidates will be nurturing, patient, reliable, joyful, and comfortable working within a team. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
- Child Development Associate Certification and/or a college degree in a related field is preferred but not required
