The Diary of Anne Frank: How Anne Intended the Journal to Be

In discussion with Dr. Samara Grossman
Anne Frank is said to the most recognizable face of the Holocaust—only a girl, she documented her time in hiding through a journal. What many don’t know, is she intended that journal to be published, or at least desired to so. Throughout the two years, Anne revised the journal, adding, revising, and omitting as time went on. We will examine the evolution of this editing process, and how her experience shaped how we understand the time hiding in that attic over seventy years ago.
ACCESS EVENTDr. Grossman holds a Doctor of Letters in Literary Studies from Drew University. She also holds a Master’s from Kean University in Liberal Studies with a certificate in Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
