Summer Life Long Learning Series: The Art of Trader Joe’s with Author Julie Averbach
August 6 @ 1:00 pm

Trader Joe’s is a treasure trove of art. Hidden in plain sight, artwork animates everything from the eye-catching product packaging to handmade murals and signs. After visiting 150+ Trader Joe’s stores nationwide, author Julie Averbach uncovers the secret and surprising stories behind Trader Joe’s art, inspiring us to appreciate the grocery store as an art gallery.
Julie Averbach is the author of the new book The Art of Trader Joe’s: Discovering the Hidden Art Gems of America’s Favorite Grocery Store (previously featured in The New York Times, Artnet News, and CNBC). Averbach holds a B.A. in History of Art & Psychology from Yale University. She is the Founder & CEO of smARTee, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides immersive virtual art tours to promote arts access, wellness, and lifelong learning.
