20th Annual New Jersey Jewish Film Festival

For the safety and health of our community, it has become necessary to postpone our 20th Annual New Jersey Jewish Film Festival set to begin on Thursday, March 19.  We will reschedule the films when we know we can do so safely.  We expect that the modified festival will include screenings throughout the summer, September and October. All purchased tickets will be exchangeable once the new dates are confirmed.

Please contact Sarah Diamond with any questions: (973) 929-2938 or [email protected]

Director: Michelle Paymar

A fascinating account of the late-19th-century discovery of the world’s largest and most diverse collection of medieval manuscripts, hidden for centuries in the geniza, or sacred storeroom, of a synagogue in Old Cairo. A tale of adventure and scholarship by pioneering women and radical rabbis, who embark on a remarkable odyssey to bring these historic troves to the modern world. Early photos and film-reel scenes combine with animation and visual effects to reveal the significance of rare treasures of 1,000 years of Jewish life.
Post-screening discussion with Dr. Gary Rendsburg, Chair of Jewish History at Rutgers University
