SUMMARY:Commemorating October 7\, 2023 - Part 2 - Short Films Program
DESCRIPTION:Tattooed for Life (30 mins\, Hebrew with English subtitles)\nLiraz Uliel survived the massacre at the Nova festival on October 7\, but lost her partner and many close friends. She created a special tattoo design to immortalize them and others lost at Nova. Israelis grappling with loss on October 7 come to Liraz’s shop and share their stories while joining Liraz’s network of memory. \nThe Boy (25 mins\, Hebrew with English subtitles)\nBarak\, a troubled young man\, lives on a kibbutz bordering Gaza and struggles with the stress of daily bombardment by Hamas (before October 7). His father stretches the limits of his own understanding to care for Barak. This film is the final work by Yahav Winner\, who was murdered on October 7 while enabling his wife (filmmaker Shaylee Atary) to escape with their newborn daughter. \nYe’arim: A Temporary Home (23 mins\, Hebrew with English subtitles)\nFollowing the October 7 massacre\, Moshav Netiv HaAsara and Kibbutz Zikim residents were evacuated to the Yearim Hotel in the Jerusalem hills.
