OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our facility. All work performed by the Facilities Technician prioritizes the health and safety of the members, visitors and staff of JCC MetroWest, and anticipates the needs and provides what is needed to keep all areas of the building running smoothly and efficiently. Position is covered by a union collective bargaining agreement.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
• Complete repair Work Orders
• Respond to radio calls
• Help with office moves (e.g., desks, shelves, wall units)
• Prepare and setup spaces for meetings and events, and break down and clean up afterwards
• Clean and monitor garage daily
• Receive and put away supplies and other deliveries
• Change batteries, wipes and sanitizer in dispensers and fill water bottles as needed
• Empty all outside trash barrels including playgrounds and garage
• Replace light bulbs, light switches, flushometers, toilettes and sinks as needed
• Snake drains if needed
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned as needed
COMPETENCIES / QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be able to work independently and with others in a team
· Ability to use good, sound judgment
· Ability to adjust to changing priorities and needs of the building
· Ability to communicate at a basic level and take direction in English
· Previous experience in maintenance of a large facility and providing set-up/break down for events preferred but not required
· All employees of JCC MetroWest are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs (e.g., carry large, full trash bags)
· Must be able to lift, pull, climb, kneel and bend
· Must be able to stay on feet the majority of the day
· Must be able to move easily around areas of the building
