Marisa Cohen is the Director of Special Needs Services. Marisa is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.S.E.D. Educational Psychology) and New York University (M.A. Rehabilitation Counseling) and holds a certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC). A tenured special needs professional for the past 19 years, Marisa most recently served as the Senior Clinical Support Specialist for the Life Management Program at the Arc of Essex County in Livingston, NJ. In this role, Marisa helped to provide in-home support to families having both young and adult children with special needs along with challenging behaviors. She supervised a staff who provided respite sessions to these families while also developing specific goals to develop greater communication, independence in daily living, and community involvement.
Marisa is a West Orange resident and enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and being involved in any type of craft project! In fact she ran an art program at Child’s Way Jewish Montessori for 4 years and was the art specialist at Gesher Summer Camp.
