We appreciate your patience as we endeavor to find a solution to the inoperable air-conditioning in the JCC Racquetball Courts.
I am pleased to inform you that we have assembled the funds necessary to replace the air-conditioning in the Courts.
Here are the circumstances and the caveats we ask our members to know and understand:
1. The dysfunctional units are obsolete - parts are no longer available and these units cannot be fixed. They must be replaced.
2. Replacing these units is not a simple task. The issues we have faced and continue to face include:
→ Significant cost - It has taken us several weeks, but we have secured funding to cover the anticipated $60,000 replacement cost.
→ Replacing the units will take up to 8-10 weeks. This is not due to lack of effort or urgency, but solely due to the intricacy of the replacement process, which includes:
3. Our heating & air-conditioning contractor is already in process of designing the specifications and installation plans for the new equipment. We expect to place the order within the next several days.
4. We will keep you informed as work progresses. While we do not anticipate needing to close the courts for any length of time, there may be a few times during this process that necessitates limiting usage.
5. The Racquetball Courts will remain open during the replacement process. Members can continue to use the courts "as is."
