This daily travel program during the month of August provide Teens who have special needs the opportunity to spend the day in the community on daily trips, while providing them with opportunities to learn daily living skills. Activities include trips to the beach, museums, sporting events, entertainment complexes, yoga class and more. Program hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm daily. Teens can attend, 1,2, 3 or 4 weeks, July 30, 2012 through August 24, 2012. Maximum enrollment is ten teens per day and an intake interview is required for admission. There are only a few spaces left.
We work with families to provide individualized camp opportunities for chidren with special needs to attend summer camp with their typical peers. Our Camp Friends Program at Camp Deeny Riback in Flanders provides children who have special needs with a one to one shadow counselor to help each child to fully maximize his or her experience. Shadow counselors are typically teens or college students. Shadow programs are also available in the JCC's Early Childhood Camps, Explorations Camp and Triple Threat Theatre Camp, both of which are located at the Cooperman JCC in West Orange. Enrollment is limited. Interview and complete intake process required for admission to the program.
