Jewish History

Evolution of Jewish Law - This course will trace the evolution of Halakha, Jewish Law, from the early Biblical Texts through modern rulings by each movement.  Emphasis will be placed on the development of systems for interpretation, eventually using specific issues (medical ethics, identity and gender classification) as examples.
