JCC MetroWest is an authorized provider of American Red Cross Aquatic, Health and Safety Classes and the leading agency in northern New Jersey in training American Red Cross aquatic professionals. We are authorized through the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.

Whether you're a new or an experienced babysitter; this course is for you! This updated course will teach you how to be a good leader and role model as you care for children and infants. Learn how to make good decisions, solve problems, and select age appropriate activities. Maintain a safe environment, handle emergencies, conduct the "business" of babysitting, and much more.
This is a co-ed class appropriate for participants 11 to15 years of age. Participants must be 11 years old by the last scheduled date of the course. Please bring proof of age to first class and a large (16+ inches) baby doll and a snack to each class. Course materials include an interactive CD-ROM.
Certification: Babysitter's Training.
Certification has no expiration date. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Prerequisites:
Pre-skills:
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
- Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 lb. object.
- Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so the are able to get a breath. Candidates can not swim the distance underwater. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
Certification: American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguard Training/First Aid/CPR/AED: valid for 2 years.

Must bring current certifications, and pocket mask.

- chock full of information every lifeguarding participant (and parents!) needs to be ready for their lifeguarding class. All participants must bring a copy of the Acknowledgement Form (page 3) to the first day of class.
You will need to bring a modest swim suit and towels. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Upon successful completion of required skills, students will be certified to teach a variety of classes for infants through adults. The class also includes the American Red Cross Fundamentals of Instructor (FIT) Training course.
Prerequisites:
Maintain position on back in deep water and treading water for 1 minute each
Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
This course is for those who wish to train and certify others in Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED for Lifeguards. Will include training in AED, Emergency Oxygen, and Preventing Disease Transmission. Participants must be 17 by the completion of the course. Please bring proof of age to first class. You will need to bring a modest swim suit and towels.
Prerequisite - Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT)
