The Adler Aphasia Center at JCC MetroWest provides a therapeutic environment of innovative programs that help people with aphasia and their families reconnect with life.
Long term rehabilitation is possible. Our research shows people with aphasia benefit in many ways:

How do we help people with aphasia?
Through conversation, activities, technology, the arts, and education, our programs help our members:
- Improve communication skills
- Exercise cognitive skills
- Build self-esteem
- Make social connections
Cost is $30 per day less than one-third of Center’s cost.
Scholarships are available – no one is turned away for their inability to pay. You must meet income guidelines to qualify for a scholarship.
Rediscovery: A Day at the Adler Aphasia Center
- Members with aphasia enjoy 3 groups a day.
- The computer lab provides individualized instruction.
- The program meets on a semester basis, twice a week for 15 weeks (3 semesters annually).
- We offer a variety of groups, for example: technology, advocacy, handwriting and spelling, drama, movies, photography, healthy living and debate club.

How do we help family caregivers?
The family caregiver support group is facilitated by our life coach and focuses on mutual support and encouragement while building strategies to cope with the challenges of aphasia.
Our caregiver support group meets weekly at JCC MetroWest on Thursdays from 12:30 – 1:30pm.

How do I join the Adler Aphasia Center?
We welcome people of all ages who have been diagnosed with aphasia. If you cannot participate independently, you must be accompanied by a caregiver. Call us to set up a tour where you will learn more about our Center and how it will help in your recovery.

How long can I attend the Center’s programs?
You can stay as long as you choose. Many of our members with aphasia stay for years as they regard the Center as their “home away from home.”
Do you provide transportation to the Center?

Can I participate in other JCC MetroWest programs?
Participants at the Adler Aphasia Center at JCC MetroWest can enjoy many of the JCC programs.
